It is the middle of August, and I have bunches of very healthy sloe berries on my Blackthorn bushes. These beautiful blue berries are native to Europe and Asia, and have a rich history in England. Farmers have for centuries divided their fields with Blackthorn, as it is so dense. In the 17th century, the abundance of berries led these farmers to be quite enterprising with them, and they started steeping them in gin and adding sugar, and hence, Sloe Gin was created, a liquor that no doubt helped warm the cockles during those cold, harsh winters.
Well, it was a warm, glorious summer this past weekend in Chawton. We kicked off the weekend with a fabulous Coffee Morning, with delightful baked goods, coffee, tea, and hospitality, which created the setting for our visitors. Thank you to our hospitality and bakers, Carole, Sue, and Chris Shore, and not forgetting Nerina Dannat!!. Thank you to the mediums who came to visit us – Lesley Knight, Jenny Docherty, Ann Marie Hogan, Anita Gardiner, and Virginia Gordon. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Our own mediums were working ‘their tails off’ also. Thanks to Steve Lidgett Williams and Sarah Dorgan, Our Healers were busy. Thanks to Barbara and Ken Matthews, Chris Elliot, Jane Trillaud, Steve Lidgett Williams, and Alison Keogh. It was a fantastic morning coordinated by Rob, Julie, and Chris, and a real sense of our community. The next one is in November. Mark your calendars!!
Last night we continued with our Divine Service as Jim Demitri came to visit, and we had such a lovely evening of laughter, beautiful, inspired thoughts, and messages. Thank you so much, Jim!! What an evening! Our own special Chris Shore chaired the evening beautifully, and the readings and prayers from the family raised the energy. There was also plenty of cake left from Saturday!! Thank you to our Music Team- Julie and Lisa, our Hospitality Team, Sue and Carole, and of course thank you to our ever-present Healers. We do not forget those who create the space, setting up and breaking down, and those who do the washing up!!
Prayer of the week.
Please continue to pray for Peace in our world.. This is such a need right now, like never before. We know the Spiritual Ones are working away, and we must help them bring it home.
Calendar up later.
Have a beautiful summer week!!
