Beautiful Wisteria. She is in bloom everywhere right now, climbing usually up the side of buildings with her stunning cascade of mauve pink. She is part of the Legume family and was named by an English botanist Thomas Nutall in memory of a Dr Casper Wistar. Introduced into the UK in 1816, she is a vine native to places like China, and Korea but also Canada and Iran. Her scent is heavenly and her Spiritual symbolism is that of devotion that transcends death. I am inspired to grow her but she can be a little tricky, sometimes taking a decade to bloom, but she exudes such peace and beauty, I think it’s worth a try.
Our gathering in Chawton last night was a peaceful family night as Rob spoke on healing as we watched a demonstration. Chris Elliot chaired beautifully for us. We had lovely prayers and readings from the family and sang some lovely hymns. We thank our hospitality Sue who gave us some tasty treats to snack on afterwards. Thank you readers, Julie and Lisa music team, and our healers as well as those who set up and break down each week.
Prayer of the week.
In light of VE day this week, may we pray for all those veterans of conflict who have seen so much and sacrificed so much. Europe would look very different today had the outcome been different. Sometimes we lose sight of that.
Calendar up tomorrow.
Have a beautiful week. The weather has broken but it is still a glorious springtime out there! Enjoy!
