As we enter another week, we prepare to step into Autumn.

This Wednesday at 1.05am we officially welcome Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, and the Southern Hemisphere welcomes Spring, as we cross the Equinox. Even with our wacky, unpredictable weather, the feel of Autumn is upon us. Sunday night, returning from Chawton, it was decidedly chilly and warranted a really hot drink before retiring.

I must confess, it is my favourite time of all. I love all the seasons, but there is something about this shift of seasons, even before the leaves have started their glorified colour show. One of the local cats stole through my old cat door into my extension whilst I was sipping my coffee this morning. She stayed for a while, and we enjoyed the moments together, until she heard it was time for breakfast next door, and she was off like a shot!

We have an expected heatwave this week, but I am sure it will be the last blast, giving us hope before we travel through the colder months. But make no mistake, nature waits for no one. All of the natural world knows it and is already busying itself for the season ahead. So, ‘Hello, Autumn.’ After some of the scorching days we have experienced this summer, we’ve been waiting for you!

Sunday night, we welcomed Eve Cowell, and Eve brought us some lovely thoughts concerning her own experiences in Lourdes, and then went on to bring some beautiful messages. Our own Steve chaired the evening and kept us well in line. Thank you! Our family offered readings and prayers to lift us, and we thank everyone, including our music team, Julie and Lisa.

A huge thank you to our hospitality team, Sue and Carole, and, of course, for another gorgeous cake, enjoyed by all! We also thank our healers for bringing the healing through after the service. And, as always, a massive thank you to everyone who helps with the setting up and breaking down afterwards. So many step in to help, and it makes it such quick, light work.

Please pray for our little church, that we can always rise to meet the needs of those who come through the door, and that our church doors remain forever open to all.
